Biography
Felix Lebrun is a French table tennis superstar and 2025 French national champion, born on September 12, 2006, in Montpellier, France. He and his older brother, Alexis Lebrun, come from a family with a strong table tennis background. Their father was formerly ranked #7 in France, while their uncle played at three Olympics. The Lebrun brothers started playing table tennis at the age of 3. Felix’s penhold grip is inspired by Chen Jian, a Chinese table tennis player who trained in his hometown. He is one of the few table tennis players from Europe to use a penhold grip, which he adopted at age four.
In 2023, Felix entered the top 10 of the ITTF Men’s Rankings. He won the European Games that year by beating Marcos Freitas of Portugal.
At the 2024 Paris Olympics, he won a bronze medal at 17 years and 10 months to become the youngest male table tennis player to win a medal in the men’s singles event in Olympic table tennis history, breaking a record previously held by Yoo Nam-Kyu of South Korea.
