Rubbers Used:
Sanwei Hyper Gear, Donic Blue Grip S2
Weight
The blade feels very lightweight even when paired with thick rubbers, which is perfect for me because I prefer lightweight blades.
Spin Generation
As a pure wood blade, it is easy to generate spin. Personally, the lightweight nature of the blade makes it more convenient to use your wrist to generate additional spin.
Defense
The Sanwei website classifies it as an offensive blade, but personally, I would rate it more on the defensive side. It has excellent control for blocking shots and indeed has a large sweet spot. Blocking works better when you stay close to the table. Even if your opponent lands a powerful shot, such as a loop kill, you’ll still be able to block the ball without sending it off the table.
Offense
As an all-wood blade, you won’t get as much power as with carbon blades, but playing offensively will work fine if you stay close to the table. The blade performs very well for looping at short to long range, and power shots and loop kills at short range.
One last thing to remember is that if the ball has heavy underspin, you will be forced to loop it. Hitting a heavy underspin ball at the top of its trajectory usually works with carbon blades, but since this is an all-wood blade, doing so is a bit of a challenge and will most likely send the ball into the net
Overall Rating
Overall, I like this blade because it fits my defensive blocking style and works well with my decent offensive game.
