WTT Grand Smash is the biggest tournament in the WTT series. Winning players (champions) receive 2,000 points, which is the maximum awarded in any ITTF-sanctioned tournament. Wang Chuqin won the most Grand Smash (4 singles titles) since its inception in 2022. Truls Moregardh is the only non-Chinese to win a Smash singles title. Fan Zhendong and Chen Meng won the first edition in Singapore Smash 2022.
China, by far, has the most Grand Smash titles with 41 of the 45 titles (91%). Since 2025, Grand Smashes have been held four times annually – Singapore Smash, United States Smash, Europe Smash, and China Smash.
Format
Grand Smash is the only WTT tournament that features all five formats – men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.
Draws
Top players are seeded in a 64 player knockout system with a few vacant spots to be filled from winners of three qualifiying rounds.
Editions
There have been four editions held every year since 2025.
Tournament Prizes
Each edition offers different prize amounts. The highest prize so far was $135,000 for the winners of the singles events and $12,000 for the doubles events, awarded at the China Smash 2025. The lowest prize to date was $60,000 for the singles winners and $8,500 for the doubles events, which were awarded at the Singapore Smash 2024.
