China using sports to expand political influence?

I came across this YouTube video where she claims that China is maximizing "commercial" and "political" values of their athletes.

Did Chen Meng get booed in the Olympics in her gold medal match against Sun Yingsha? I watched the match live and I personally did not hear the crowd boo Chen Meng. 

She claims that Chen Meng was supposedly to lose that fight because Sun Yingsha has more long term value being a younger player. Everything was rooting for Sun including their coaches. 

What are your thoughts/reaction to  this?
