As Lin Shidong wins the Singapore Smash 2025, he will become the world #1 when the new ITTF rankings are released.
Currently, Wang Chuqin has 7367 points, while Lin Shidong has 6375 points.
By winning the Singapore Smash 2025, Lin Shidong will earn 2000 points, bringing his total to 8375 points. As a semifinalist, Wang Chuqin will earn 700 points, raising his total to 8067 points.
This results in the new top 2 table tennis players as of 2nd week of February 2025
#1 Lin Shidong - 8375 points
#2 Wang Chuqin - 8067 points
