Lubomir Jancarik must be feeling incredible right now after securing his first senior title at 38 years old—and after 21 years as a professional.

At 38, most top players have already retired and entered the second phase of their lives. I doubt he expected this either. He didn’t just beat a young player—he dominated the #5 seed in his prime.

I wonder which player from the past had an unexpected run at the end of their career like this.

Lubomir Jancarik just jump from world #174 to #40 in the latest ITTF Rankings.
