Why are table tennis players from South East Asia (Brunei, Myanmar, Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia,  Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) struggling to make it in top stage in table tennis?

The most promising right now is Izaac Quek from Singapore who is currently rank #77 which is way to go.

I think the reason South East Asian (SEA) countries are struggling in the world stage of table tennis is really just more about economic status as with other developing countries. Most SEA countries are third world so they have less access to sophisticated training experience and international exposures as compared to other players in developed countries like Japan and China.
