Why there are no longer open tournaments in table tennis? There used to be Korea Open, Qatar Open, etc.

The table tennis open tournaments such as China, Korea, Qatar Open, etc. were annual series of table tennis tournaments by the ITTF that started in 1996 and ended in 2021.

They were referred to as the ITTF World Tour but were replaced with the WTT Series of Tournaments in 2021.

Any particular reason why they replaced the ITTF World  with WTT Series? It is still the same organization which is the ITTF.

ITTF said WTT Events are more commercialized table tennis tournaments.
