Waldner Cup will be held on December 13-15, 2024 in Norway. How does it work? It seems like its a Team Event Competition with 2 teams, namely Team World and Team Asia.
I believe its the first Waldner Cup so most of us is not familiar with the format yet. But you are right, there are basically 2 teams which are composed of the following:

Oh. It would have better if Felix Lebrun plays in the Waldner Cup.
Waldner cup is a sponsor / promotion cup rather than a normal tournament. Table tennis is an opener for business between Asia and Europe.
For example if a Swedish company wanted to establish a brand in China its much better to go there with Waldner than with the Swedish King or Prime minister because no one knows who those are in China.
Fun fact. Jan-Ove Waldners real name isn't Jan-Ove Waldner but in fact Jan-Ove Valdner. V not W. Few knows that, but if you would get the chance to check his passport you could confirm it yourself! 😀Â

Nice trivia. I've read it somewhere that back in the days, Waldner is more popular than Jordan
