I wonder what happened to the World Championship of Ping Pong. It’s a sandpaper-racket tournament where John Russell Misal and Richard Gonzales used to participate. In my opinion, it’s a great alternative to the rubber-racket tournaments.

The World Championship of Ping Pong has been stopped by the organization apparently. The tournament ran from 2011 to 2020 as you can see in the image below. They still managed to ran the tournament in the pandemic. More  often than not, it's a money issue. Maybe they were not that profitable.

Wow. Ernesto Ebuen is the first and only player from the Philippines to win World Championship of Ping Pong. I didn't know he plays sandpaper.
