Hi,

I wanted to ask if any of you have used Butterfly Bugller . I believe its a brand new line of pimples-out rubber from Butterfly.

Butterfly website characterized it as

" High Tension pimples-out rubber capable of producing unpredictable balls "

dingdong,

I don't use pimples-out but Mo Zhang is now using Buggler. Butterfly posted her review on their Facebook page.

In a sense, she said Buggler will provide more variation and heavier shots. She said her shots are floaty and ball won't ravel as forward as much before using this rubber.

mikosan,

Thank you for your response.

What does heavier shot means in this context or in table tennis in general?

That's a great question.

I think a heavy shot is when the ball moves fast but with less spin—like a smash or a flat drive, where the ball travels quickly with minimal spin. Mo Zhang uses Buggler on her forehand, and if you watch her play, she does a lot of flat drives.
