While the youngest table tennis player to win an Olympic gold medal is Deng Yaping at 19 years old and 5 months, the youngest in the male category is Yoo Nam-Kyu of South Korea at 20 years old and 3 months. He won the Olympic gold medals at the Summer Olympics in Seoul in 1988
