    With China beating Japan 3-0 at Women's table tennis team gold medal match, the Chinese table tennis team continues its undefeated records at the team event for both men and women. The team event category in Olympics table tennis was introduced in 2008 and China won gold medal every time for both men and women.

It is harder to beat the Chinese table tennis team at team events. For other countries to beat them, they must have at least 2 players at the top 5 ITTF World rankings.
