Biography

Richard Pugoy Gonzales  is a professional Filipino table tennis player and widely considered as the greatest Filipino table tennis player of all time. He has won a total of 10 medals (3 silver and 7 bronze) in the South East Asian Games.

He is a defensive table tennis player who uses long pimples on his backhand and regular rubber on his forehand. He has defeated many top-seeded international players due to his unconventional playing style. As of October 2024, he is still active in table tennis and represented the Philippines in the 2023 Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia, where he won bronze medals alongside John Russel Misal.

Gonzales won bronze medal at the 2025 South East Asian Games Men’s Team Event  in Bangkok, Thailand.
