How do you deal players who are good in playing elbow?
I've seen the replay of the match between Benedikt Duda and Felix Lebrun. Duda was playing a lot of elbows which contributed to a lot of his points and was a factor of his victory.Â
How do you deal with players who are good in playing elbow?
Here's how I deal with players who are good in playing elbow:
1. Move away farther from the table. Playing elbow is very effective when the target is close to the table. When you are farther from the table, it gives you a bit of time to react with the "point of indecision" such as
either hitting it with a backhand or forehand.
2. Don't allow your opponent for powerful shots. Make him uncomfortable as possible. He might still to be able do an offense on the playing elbow but if its not powerful enough (slow speed) you will be able to react.
