Timo Boll finally played the last match of his professional career today. He had announced his retirement after the Olympics last year, but today we witnessed his final professional game.

Timo Boll is undoubtedly the greatest table tennis player from Germany. He was once ranked world number 1 and was the only non-Chinese player who could consistently challenge and defeat Chinese players after JO Waldner retired.

Danke Timo Boll!

How about Ryu Seung-min? He’s the only non-Chinese table tennis player to win Olympic gold in the last 30 years. Is his career greater than or equal to Timo Boll's?

Ryu Seung-min  world dominance was short-lived. After the Olympics, his performance declined. I believe he  never reached world #1, though I’d say he had one of the greatest Olympic performances when he beat Wang Hao. If you compare the entire careers of Timo Boll and Ryu Seung-min, Timo’s is better.
