For the first time ever, a Philippine table tennis national doubles team reaches quarterfinals at the Asian Championship. Jann Nayre and John Russel Misal is through to the quarterfinals of the ITTF-ATTU Asian Championships Tashkent 2026 after defeating Iran's Aryan Ghaffari and Benyamin Faraji.
At the quarterfinals, they will face Hong Kong's Wong Chun Ting and Chald Baldwin. The doubles event will take place on 10:40 AM Uzbekistan or 1:40 PM Philippines in Table 3.

Wow. Nayre and Misal was able to reach 5th set against Wong Chun Ting and Chald Baldwin who are the world #5 in doubles. Their compaign ends with the lost but that was a sold performance.
